When was the last time we had a weekend that was sunny on both Saturday and Sunday?
April 21-22, according to data from the Northeast Regional Climate Center.
Yes, seven weekends ago.
Since then, we had showers on at least one weekend day.
Memorial Day weekend is a good example our changeable, in between weather.
On Saturday it was warm and sunny with high temperatures hitting 89 in Stratford and 87 in Danbury. On Sunday, we had showers and temperatures 15 degrees cooler from Saturday. On Memorial Day, it was mostly gray skies and temperatures in the upper 60s.
Now, nearly two months since our last rain-free weekend comes some promising news from the National Weather Service.
“Any chances for rain over the weekend now appear to be south of the region,” the NWS says. “Temperatures will remain a few degrees above normal through Saturday, before dropping off to several degrees below normal for Sunday. Overall though, it is shaping up to be a nice weekend.”
And its forecast through Thursday also has no rain showers in sight. Skies will be mostly or party sunny skies during the day with temperatures in the 70s.
