Half the weekend will be a rainy washout

Saturday is the best weather day of the weekend with sunny skies and seasonable temperatures.

After that, moderate rain moves Saturday night and lingers into Sunday.

On Friday, there also a chance of rain of light to moderate in advance of a cold front.

Breezy northwest winds - gusting as high as 26 mph - are expected between 3 and 6 p.m. Friday

High pressure briefly shifts overhead for Saturday with clear skies and dry conditions.

High temperature reach the mid 40s by the afternoon.

Saturday night a deepening low pressure system pushes into the area from the southwest bringing moderate rain late Saturday night and into the day on Sunday.

Northwest Connecticut could see some snow or a wintry mix late Saturday night.

The National Weather Service says rainfall totals could reach an inch.

The long-range forecast is calling for sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-40s on Thanksgiving Day.
