WESTPORT — A 24-year-old Westport man was charged with assault following a disturbance at a local residence.
On Oct. 20 at 12:56 a.m., officers responded to a Westport residence on a complaint of a disturbance. Although it was initially determined to be verbal in nature, police said responding officers were seeking to speak with Thomas Stuttard about what was relayed by the complainants.
According to police, the complainants reported they would be leaving the residence for the evening and officers ultimately cleared the scene. Shortly after doing so, an additional emergency call was received from the same residence.
Stuttard had returned to the location and allegedly committed a physical assault. He was then taken into custody and charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.
Stuttard posted $1,000 bond and was scheduled to be arraigned at state Superior Court in Norwalk on Oct. 21.
