Senior center lists upcoming activities

The Westport Center for Senior Activities has announced the following activities:

Tuesday, May 13: A talk, "Natural Ways to Improve Digestion," is scheduled from 1 to 2 p.m. , to be delivered by Adam Propper, a chiropractor who the center said is an expert on anti-aging,

Wednesday, May 14: An open discussion on gardening is planed from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., led by Diane Ringelheim, a graduate of the University of Connecticut's master gardener program.

Thursday, May 15: A workshop, "Dealing Positively with Negative Reactions," will be offered from 10 to 11 p.m. The session will be led by Nanette Green, a counselor with Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County, and will outline "positive-self-talk" strategies to shed bad moods and negative emotions, the center said,

Saturday, May 17: A Saturday Social, featuring lunch and a musical program, is planned from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. The menu includes boneless roast pork in a mushroom marsala wine sauce served over white rice, baked tomato, salad, dessert and beverages. Wreckers in Tune, a Staples High music club, will perform after lunch. The cost is $7.

Sunday, May 18: "Trivia Time," a team trivia contest, is planned from 1 to 3 p.m. Teams of up to eight people will compete for prizes, and Dan Woog, Westport News columnist and blogger, will be the quiz master. The event is designed for all ages, and organizers say teams representing several generations will have the best chances for success. Cost is $5, and tickers are available at the center.
