‘Irresistible Vietnam’ exhibit opening
WESTPORT — Photographer Joan C. Cavanaugh, of Westport, visited Vietnam in October. She will share her broad scope of exotic experiences in photographing the vibrant people and the hidden gems of Vietnam in a slideshow and interview with Hang Nguyen, a native of Hanoi.
Nguyen is the founder of SilkStar Holidays, a woman-owned business of a tour company in Vietnam.
Opening on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., the “Irresistible Vietnam” exhibit will feature 40 images of Cavanaugh’s recent trip to Vietnam.
At 7:15 p.m, Cavanaugh will interview Nguyen and share insights into the Vietnamese people and places. The exhibit will remain in Hoskins Hall, at Saugatuck Congregational Church, 245 Post Road E., through April 2.
Opening night is free. Refreshments will be served. For information about “Irresistible Vietnam,” visit saugatuckchurch.org.
Library to host exhibit opening reception
WESTPORT — Ten years in the making, the major renovation of the Westport Library began last September.
The $19.5 million plan will not change the building’s footprint and will continue into 2019, during which the library will remain open.
The newly installed exhibit in the library’s Great Hall showcases renderings of the planned renovation by architect Henry Myerberg’s New York-based design firm, HMA2, paired with photographs of construction on the library’s first floor by Westport photographer Richard Frank.
On view through May, the exhibit will have an opening reception on Friday, March 2, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Great Hall.Read Full Article
