WESTPORT — A Cheshire man was arrested for issuing a bad check to a local resident, police said.
In October, Jonathan Martin, 36, allegedly issued a bad check for $5,000 to a Westport resident. After several unsuccessful attempts to collect money, the Westport resident filed a police report.
Westport Police issued a warrant for Martin’s arrest. With the assistance of Cheshire Police, Martin was taken into custody Feb. 23 in Cheshire and later transported to Westport headquarters. Martin was charged with issuing a bad check and released after posting a $10,000 court-set bond. Martin is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Court March 3.
