WESTPORT — A Bridgeport man previously arrested in Westport for drunken driving and giving police a fake name at a car stop has failed to appear in court, police said.
In August 2017, Faru Ugorji-Ufomaduh fell asleep at the wheel while intoxicated and crashed into a guardrail near Nyala Farms in the early morning, police said. Then in June of this year, Ugorji-Ufomaduh, 27, was arrested by Westport officers again after he was pulled over on Greens Farms Road for allegedly talking on his phone while driving and giving police a fake name.
On Oct. 23, Ugorji-Ufomaduh turned himself in at police headquarters on two outstanding warrants for his arrest. He was charged with two counts of second-degree failure to appear and released after posting $3,000 bond. Ugorji-Ufomaduh was scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Norwalk on Oct. 30.
