WESTPORT — Two people were taken to Norwalk Hospital Sunday evening after a rollover accident on the Interstate 95 exit 18 on-ramp.
According to the Westport Fire Department,they — along with Westport Police, Westport EMS and Connecticut State Police — responded to a call of a rollover with extrication required. The call came in around 5:40 p.m.
Westport Engine 5 was the first fire unit to respond, and they reported a single vehicle on its roof. Assistant Fire Chief Matthew Cohen said there were only two people in the vehicle were able to remove themselves from the vehicle. Aid was provided to the occupants, and both of them two were transported to Norwalk Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The fire department remained to ensure there were no further hazards and the accident was under investigation by the state police.
