HISTORIC NIGHT: The Huskies could become the first women's team to earn nine national championships in the first -- men's or women's -- battle of unbeatens in the tournament final. They are tied with Tennessee for the most titles in the sport. They are also looking to complete their fifth unbeaten season. Notre Dame is looking for its first perfect season and its second national championship.
FINAL TOUCHES: The Huskies are 8-0 in the NCAA tournament final. Notre Dame is 1-2.
ONE-SIDED: There will be no intimidation factor. Notre Dame has won seven of the last nine games against UConn.
BEEN THERE, DONE THAT: This will be the fourth straight year -- fifth all-time -- that UConn and Notre Dame have met at the Final Four. It will be the first time in the title game. The Irish own a 3-1 edge in the first four meetings.
DYNAMIC DUO: Guards Jewell Loyd (20.0) and Kayla McBride (17.6) have combined for 37.6 points in the tournament for the Irish. Loyd had 30 points against Baylor in the regional final. McBride had 28 against Maryland in the national semifinals.
