Wilton High School rising senior Spencer Brown won his first Road Runners race of the season on Saturday as he lead a record field of 191 runners over a 3.8 mile distance in a race that started and finished at Longshore Club Park. Brown won the race with a time of 20:10. The first woman to finish was Kerri Lyons, of Wilton, in fourth place overall with a new women's course record time of 22:16. The old record of 22:45 was set by Wilton's Mary Zengo in 1997.
Second and third places in the men's division in Saturday's race went to James Osborn, of Ridgefield, and Pat Dennen, of Middlebury, with respective times of 20:16 and 20:43. Second and third places in the women's division were awarded to Cate Allen (22:47), of Fairfield, in ninth place overall and Mary Zengo (23.02), of Wilton, in 11th. Westport-Weston residents who finished in the top 10 were Daniel Landy, fifth in 22:29, and David Allen, 10th in 22:55.
After three races, Osborn leads the overall men's division with 28 points, while Liz Herbert paces the women's division with 23.
The next scheduled Road Runners race will be held July 19 at 8 a.m. with a 4.1 mile race starting at the Compo Beach Entrance Road main gate.

The fee for the program is $30 for Westport residents and $50 for non-residents. In addition, participants have the option of paying a weekly fee of $5 (resident) or $8 (non-resident) per race fee instead of the program fee.
