The quartet of Erica Hefnawy, Olivia Wiener, Tyler Scanlin and Hannah DeBalsi gave the Staples girls track team a victory Thursday night in the Women's East Coast Challenge DMR race held at the 47th annual Loucks Games. The three-day event, held at White Plains High School (N.Y.), featured some of the best runners from the tri-state area.

The Wreckers clocked in at 11:54.15, easily defeating Mamoroneck (N.Y.), which crossed the line in 12:05.98.

Hefnawy ran the opening leg (1200 meters), a distance that isn't on the state circuit. Wiener (400) and Scanlin (800) maintained third place before DeBalsi (1600) received the baton and charged ahead of the pack.

The team ran in third place (11:45.79) at indoor nationals in March to earn All-American honors.
