Ridgefield's James Osborn made it back-to-back wins to start the Westport Road Runners summer series last Saturday as he came home first in a 3.05 mile run, which started and finished at Longshore Club Park. Osborn clocked in at 16:16, ahead of a pack of 239 other runners. The first woman to finish was Caroline Murray, of New Canaan, in ninth place with the time of 18:24.
Second and third places in the men's division in Saturday's race were awarded to Pat Dennen, of Middlebury, and Tim Downs, of Norwalk, with respective times of 16:22 and 17:03. Second and third places in the women's division were awarded to Karina Lubell (18:44), of Washington, D.C., in 13th place overall and Liz Herbert (18.59), of Darien, in 15th with the respective times of 18:44 and 18:59.
Other Westport-Weston residents who finished in the top 10 were Daniel Landy, fourth in 17:16, and David Allen, seventh in 18:21.
The next scheduled Road Runners race will be held on Saturday, July 12 at 8 a.m. with a 3.8 mile race starting at Longshore Club Park. The record for the 3.8 mile course of 19:06 was set by Dave Peterson, of Fairfield, in 1981. The women's record of 22:45 was set by Mary Zengo, of Wilton, in 19:97.

The fee for the program is $30 for Westport residents and $50for non-residents. In addition, participants have the option of paying a weekly fee of $5 (resident) or $8.00 (non-resident) per race fee instead of the program fee.
