The Westport Center for Senior Activities is hosting two cookouts this summer: one at the center, and a lobster clambake at Longshore Park.
On Thursday, July 31, chef Robert LaBrusciano will fire up the grill with hamburgers, hot dogs, grilled chicken, potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans and watermelon for dessert. The cookout will be at the center from 5 to 7 p.m. Cost is $8; registration is required.
The annual lobster clambake is Thursday, Aug. 14, (rain date Aug. 21), from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Evan Harding Park in Longshore Club Park, 260 Compo Road South. Seniors 60 and older, along with their family and friends, are invited.
Entree choices include lobster, swordfish, steak or chicken. Included with all meals are clams, steamers, shrimp, corn-on-the-cob, potato, coleslaw, dinner roll, watermelon and a beverage. Classic American tunes will be provided by Gene Pino.
Cost is $34. Reservations and payment are required by Friday, Aug. 8. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
