The Play With Your Food lunch-time theater series will stage its last productions of the season in Westport, April 1 to 3, and in Fairfield on April 8.
The program includes a gourmet buffet lunch, a selection of one-act play readings, and post-event discussions with professional actors and playwrights.
The April productions will include an excerpt from "The Audience," by Peter Morgan, which centers on the weekly audiences given by Queen Elizabeth II to prime ministers from her accession in 1952 to the present day; "Long Time, No See," by Pulitzer Prize-nominee Janet Burroway, a comedy about opportunity, success and lost connection; and "Torpid," a short comedy about parenthood.
"The Audience" debuted in 2013 in London's West End starring Helen Mirren, and will feature actress E. Katherine Kerr in the local production. Kerr is the winner of an Obie Award for her portrayals of three characters in "Cloud Nine," and a Drama Desk nomination for "Laughing Wild."
Also in the cast is Kim Maresca, formerly of Fairfield, who has appeared in several local productions.
The Westport Play With Your Food production takes place in Toquet Hall, 58 Post Road East, with lunch catered by the Terrain Garden Cafe. The Fairfield Theatre Company's Stage One, 70 Sanford St., will host the Fairfield production, with lunch catered by and Garelick and Herbs.
Tickets for all Play With Your Food shows, including lunch, are $43. Shows are presented monthly, January through April, at locations in Westport, Fairfield and Greenwich.
