WESTPORT — A Norwalk man violated a protective order when he tried to contact the protectee via a third party, police said.
Police said 52-year-old Kenneth Keusch, of Norwalk, was in New York City in August when he recognized an old acquaintance.
In passing, police said Keusch began speaking to the person about another mutual friend, one with whom Keusch is prohibited from communicating. Eventually, Keusch asked if the person could pass a message along to their mutual friend, which was in violation of the protective order placed against him, police said.
Police later obtained a warrant for Keusch’s arrest and, on Nov. 1, Keusch turned himself in to police.
Keusch was charged with criminal violation of a protective order. He was held on a $10,000 bond, and he was arraigned in court Nov. 1.
