Compassionate. Giving. Energetic. Friend.
Those words describe Bill Meyer -- Westport's champion -- who passed away June 28.
Bill's service to Westport, his love for the town and passion for its residents knew no bounds. I admired him greatly, and, like so many, considered him a mentor and a true friend.
Bill lived to volunteer. He was happiest when helping others. Bill advised young people and seniors, helping everyone to realize their full potential. He supported all the good causes of Westport with his words, his actions and his whole heart.
Bill used to say, "People do not care what you know unless they know that you care." Thank you for caring for us, Bill.
