WESTPORT — An underage Fairfield resident was allegedly driving drunk with beer in the back seat when a police officer pulled over his car Saturday night.
Westport Police said the 18-year-old was swerving down the Post Road and his car’s muffler was making a loud noise around 9:30 p.m. April 29, prompting an officer to stop him on Turkey Hill Road South. The officer reported a 30-pack of beer was in the back seat and the teen driver, Hunter Lutz, admitted to drinking beer and smoking marijuana and failed a field sobriety test, according to police.
Police arrested Lutz, a resident of Surrey Lane in Fairfield, and charged him with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol under the age of 21. He was released on a $500 bond ahead of a May 10 court date.
