Electronics workshop slated at Westport Library

A workshop on how to use the Arduino board, a small programmable microcontroller board, will be taught in a six-session workshop at the Westport Library starting Tuesday, May 20. The Arduino board is an open-source electronics platform used for robotics, and all kinds of other projects.

The workshop, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. will be offered through the Fairfield County Makers' Guild on Tuesdays through June 24. The sessions are for anyone with an interest in electronic circuits and the ability to learn coding. Each session will focus on a new problem. Participants must bring a laptop with the free Arduino software installed.

Software can be downloaded at http://arduino.cc/en/main/software and participants who have an Arduino kit should bring it. There will also be kits for use provided by the library. The workshop will be using the Sparkfun Inventor's Kit for the class, which is available at for purchase. The workshop is an introductory workshop, and not for those who attended the last series.

The cost is $60 for all six sessions. Visit www.westportlibrary.org or call 203-291-4800 to register or for more information. Registration will be limited to ten people.
