Sunday, March 23, is National Puppy Day, and veteran dog trainer Jeff Morgan will be at the Westport Library at 2 p.m. to talk about his book, "Happy Dog 101: 101 + 1 Tips for Raising a Happy Dog."
Morgan will address issues such as how to keep a dog from jumping on guests, how to keep a dog from pestering family members at dinner, and how to prevent food aggression with pets.
His guide gives up-to-date tips and detailed descriptions of the best ways to prevent and correct common behavior problems and to create a good owner-pet relationship.
The California-born author and his wife, Yael, opened the "Howlywood" Dog Behavioral and Vacation Center in 2006 in Ra'anana, Israel.
Last year, they relocated with their two children to Newtown, where they continue to help people learn how to command and control even the most difficult dogs.
The program is free and open to the public, and books will be available for purchase and signing.
