Cops: NY teen tried to use fake $100 bill, had narcotics

A New York teenager who police said tried to use a counterfeit $100 at a local pharmacy Sunday night also faces narcotics charges.

Kenny Hernandez, 18, of Jackson Heights, N.Y., was detected trying to cash the fake $100 bill at the Walgreen's pharmacy, 880 Post Road East, about 10:45 p.m. Sunday, according to the report.

Police said they also found in his possession a narcotic medication that was not prescribed to him and that was not in its proper container.

Hernandez was taken into custody and charged with first-degree forgery, possession of a controlled substance and possession of narcotics without the original container.

Bond was set at $1,000 and he is scheduled to appear July 2 in Norwalk Superior Court.
