A Norwalk woman and local business owner who, police said, pretended to be a representative of a competitor's business, has been charged with identity theft.
Mary Perkins, 53, of Gregory Boulevard, Norwalk, was charged with second-degree identity theft after turning herself in to police Sunday.
Perkins was charged after police said she pretended to be a competitor, enabling her to order goods available only to that competitor, via the Internet, according to a police report.
Police said no more details would be available until Perkins appears in court.
Perkins was released on a promise to appear March 13 in Norwalk Superior Court.
