A 52-year-old bicyclist was injured Thursday morning after he apparently failed to yield to traffic at the intersection of Hillandale and West Parish roads.
The bicyclist, identified as Alix Boyer of Hales Court, was injured from the collision and, after being treated at the scene, was taken to Norwalk Hospital.
Police and EMS were dispatched at 10:50 a.m. Thursday to a report that a collision between a bicyclist and motor vehicle had occurred.
A preliminary investigation determined that Boyer was riding his bicycle east on Hillandale Road and failed to stop at the stop sign with West Parish, according to a police report.
As a result, police said, Boyer collided with a 2005 Chevrolet Express van driven by Michael Troiano, 22, of New Fairfield.
Troiano was driving north on West Parish Road and was already within the intersection when the collision took place, police said.
There is no stop sign for northbound traffic on West Parish and Hillandale roads.
Boyer struck the left side of Troiano's van. His injuries were described as "non-life threatening," according to police.
The incident is being investigated by the Police Department's Patrol Division.
